Thank you for your question. First off, shown above is a swing bed that is 75" with a 6' x 8' frame. Swing beds really aren't meant to be swung far, they are meant to sway. But being over 6' wide, it is unlikely with normal use that it will hit. Now, anything can happen especially if you have kids that are really swinging it around. But if you were to put a 5' regular swing in this, there would be more than enough room on the sides. Or if you selected an 8' x 8' there is no way that you'd hit the posts. Just depends on how you envision your pergola and swing to be used.
