The stain that comes with these has a built in sealer so for this season you really won't need to do anything more.
For the future, you will want to stain and/or seal it every couple of years. That is what we do on our table at home. The outdoors takes a toll on the finish so to keep it warm colors, you'll want to do that. If you don't have the time, desire or energy, you can also leave it the way that it is and let it turn that nice silver/grey color. It's all up to you and your liking.
